Shipment size

For example, if your move is on the smaller scale, a smaller trailer or straight truck may be used. Time of year

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Peak Moving Season — If you booked your move through a United agent when the demand for movers is very high (April–August is typically considered peak moving season), we may engage our sister brand, Mayflower, to ensure truck availability so we can move you on schedule.

Winter Weather — If there is snow buildup on the side of the roads, this may prohibit a tractor trailer from accessing your residence; in that case, a shuttle may be used to transport your goods to the larger moving vehicle.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

City and street restrictions

  • Trucks 53 feet and over may not be allowed
  • Bridge weight capacity limits
  • Low hanging power lines
  • Narrow and/or limited street access
  • Tight or compromised driveways and/or clearances

If it is determined that your street is too restrictive for a tractor trailer,a shuttle may be used to transport your goods from your house to the larger moving truck.
